With all this talk of the country we call home, we are proud to launch a few new Canadian themed items for your viewing pleasure. In the recent weeks we have noticed a concerted effort from Canadian shop owners and retail customers alike to support Canadian business… our wholesale business is thriving and our store is full of people asking if our products are made in Canada. It feels good to be able to say “yes, all our cards and products that we design are printed locally & assembled right here”… as they always have been. And going forward we will continue to place an emphasis on the thing we have been doing all along, supporting local and working with people around us who share a like-minded care for the community that they work & live in.
And so, it only comes naturally that we introduce you to an integral member of The Assembly of Text team, our local printing expert, beer connoisseur & avid tennis player Benny. In some capacity or another we have been working with Benny of Quality Printing since we opened on Main Street in 2005, a mere 3 blocks from his established printing shop. We would pester him with our little digital jobs and attempts at offset, and he even rented us the back part of his shop as a studio space for a few years. He closed his brick & mortar storefront in 2016 after 24 years on Main Street, and it was at that time we decided to work more closely with him for all our printing needs. With his decades of knowledge, he now works with other local printers he knows & trusts on our behalf. He manages our myriad of tedious and painstakingly annoying offset & digital printing, scoring, folding, cutting, hole punching, and binding jobs with the utmost care.
We are a tough customer, with all our perfectionist tendencies, but we make a great team, as Benny takes exceptional care of our production line with his eye for detail, being extra attentive to quality and consistency. There is no one we’d rather work with than Benny, and we know he usually feels the same, as a common text thread reads… “you’re the best”, “no, you’re the best". And, not to worry, it is official; he made us a pinkie promise not to retire until we do.
